FAMILY COMPANIES IN THE CLASSROOM
GRUPO CANDELO has taken part, last February 7th, in the program FAMILY COMPANIES IN THE CLASSROOM, powered by Asociación de la Empresa Familiar de Castilla-La Mancha (AEFCLM), in collaboration with Consejería de Educación, Cultura y Deportes de Castilla-La Mancha, by running a visit through our facilities in Albacete for students from IES Bonifacio Sotos @ Casas Ibáñez.
This Program aims to promote entrepreneurship among students through direct contact with family entrepreneurs in the Region, thus reinforcing the contents related to company creation and entrepreneurship in their academic curricula.
In the visit, which was a follow-up to a talk in the educational center weeks before, our CEO, Antonio Martínez, told the students about the history of entrepreneurship behind this family group dedicated to the marketing of cereals and other agricultural products of national origin destinated to the flour, semolina, malt and animal feed industry.

Thus, he told about company's origins dating back to 1982, when his father José Martínez, better known by his family nickname, "Candelo", and his mother, Isabel Luján, decide to buy a Pegaso truck and build a first 700 m2 warehouse in Fuentealbilla (Albacete).
From then on they began to buy the cereal from local farmers, to generate activity linked to their storage, transport and sale to feed manufacturers, which allowed the company to grow and transform into a business group with several business lines.
From CANDELO, we understand that any educational and informative activity that involves young people is essential to make the agri-food sector a modern one, adapted to new needs and vital or production methodologies. In fact, the NEXT agriculture must respond to the nutritional requirements of tomorrow, so it is necessary that the people involved know the processes and importance of a sector like ours.
Let's prepare, so, THE NEXT AGRICULTURE, by preparing the main actors of tomorrow.
